The food that keeps.
Raw honeycomb in its own frame, sealed in wax by the bees. Stock it for emergencies, for wellness, or just to know it’s there. It’s still good when you reach for it.

Why honey outlasts
everything else.
Honey is one of the few foods that doesn’t spoil on its own. Four things work together, and the comb adds a fifth.

Almost no water
Bees fan nectar dry until it holds roughly 17 to 18% water. Few microbes can live in that.
Naturally acidic
Honey sits around pH 3.9, which is hostile to most bacteria.
Built-in defences
Enzymes from the bees make small amounts of hydrogen peroxide, which slows microbes further.
Sealed in wax
The bees cap each cell. Our frames arrive sealed again, so moisture stays out.
How long will it keep?
A rough guide to shelf life, from the fridge to the pantry to the hive.
Honey only goes bad if water gets into it. Keep it sealed and dry and it stays good.
Who stocks a frame?
More people than you’d think. Tap a cell to find yours.
What a frame does in a crisis.
Fast calories
Honey is mostly sugar, so it gives quick energy when other food is hard to get.
No power needed
No fridge, no cooking, no water. Open it and eat.
Makes plain food easier
Stir it into oats or tea, or spread it on bread, to make basic rations easier to face.
Honey is not a complete diet. Pair it with protein, fats and vitamins in your emergency plan.
Good for you, honestly.
Raw honey is left as the bees made it. Here is what we can say, and what we won’t.
Plant compounds
Honey contains antioxidants such as flavonoids and phenolic acids. Raw honey also keeps its natural pollen.
Gentler than sugar
It has a lower glycaemic index than refined sugar. It is still sugar, so enjoy it in moderation.
Soothes coughs
Research suggests honey can ease coughs in adults and in children over one year old.
A long history on wounds
People have used honey on wounds for centuries. Hospitals use sterilised medical-grade honey. Ours is raw food, not a first-aid product.
Please note. Never give honey to a baby under 12 months. It can carry spores that cause infant botulism. If you manage diabetes or a medical condition, ask your doctor first. This page is information, not medical advice.
Store it for the long haul.
Five habits keep a frame good for years.
Keep it sealed
Leave the frame in its wrap. For long storage, put it inside an airtight food-safe container.
Keep water out
Moisture is the only real enemy. Use a dry knife and never a wet spoon.
Cool, dark and dry
A cupboard or a closet shelf is ideal. Keep it away from heat and sunlight.
Skip the fridge
Cold makes honey crystallise faster, and it doesn’t need it.
Crystals are fine
Grainy honey is still good. Warm it gently in a water bath to loosen it. Discard it only if it smells sour, bubbles or has mould.
Good questions.
Does it really never expire?
Pure honey stored sealed and dry has no practical expiry. It can ferment if water gets in, so keep it covered.
Can I eat the wax?
Yes. Beeswax comb is edible. Chew it like gum or swallow it with the honey.
What does raw mean?
The honey hasn’t been heated or filtered, so it keeps its natural pollen and flavour.
Is it enough to survive on?
No. Honey is quick energy and a morale boost, not a full diet. Stock it with protein, grains and water.
Why comb in a frame instead of a jar?
The frame is as close to the hive as you can get. The bees’ own wax cappings protect the honey, and a jar can’t offer that.
Will it arrive in one piece?
Each frame is sealed and packed in a sturdy box with paper shred to cushion it.
